Brief introduction to Blaye:

Blaye, a wine region in the delta of Gironde, hem in between a rolling hill and the Atlantic Ocean, seeing Medoc from the bank. With oceanic airflow regulating and sands from water, it made a richest and lively wine region in Aquitaine. Greeks and Romans were the first to plant vines and brew in Blaye, a place with longer wine history than the nearby Medoc. The vineyards with the Roman liquor making technology from Middle Ages do not disappear. Then, the vineyard area decreased because all vine plantings were trapped near the harbor. Nevertheless, the resultant wines still kept excellent reputations. By the 18th century wine farming people in Blaye with the advanced growing methods and innovative technologies, animated and prospered the local wine market by continuous exploration. In 1905, this wine region began its rating (control limit of the origin) to acquire the legal protection of liquor-making technology. After that, the AOC original region regulation system was worked out in 1935, stipulating locality, grape variety, output per hectare and the alcoholic strength of wine, etc.

Reports in France:

On October 13th, 2008, Haute Gironde, French Southwest Paper, made the following report. The two people who shook hands in the picture are professor Serge Renaud and the owner of Chateau L’embrun Franck Fourcade. Serge Renaud was a professor from the University of Bordeaux, the director of epidemiological and public health Research Office at INSERM as well. For all the French food contain a fair amount of cholesterol and fat, there’s like the lowest rate of heart disease in the world in France by the reason of drinking wine frequently.
